Reading Notes: The Five Tall Sons of Pandu, part A

For this week's reading assignment, I decided to read The Five Tall Sons of Pandu. I liked this version because it emphasized the relationships between all of the characters. It reminded the reader how different characters were connected or related, and emphasized how the characters felt about each other and why. This retelling is very short, so it did feel like the plot was being rushed through a bit. Another thing I didn't like about this version is that Draupadi is only the wife of Yudhishthira, rather than the wife of all five brothers. Overall, though, reading this version of the story was beneficial to me because it reinforced the names of all the characters as well as their relationships with each other. It was a nice refresher without being too wordy.
